Her Hormone Story: Learning to Trust My Body Again
After a routine physical, Jennifer stopped trusting her own body. Part 1 of Her Hormone Story: hormones, dismissed symptoms and learning to speak up.

I want to tell you about the morning I stopped trusting my own body — and the longer road I've walked since to take that trust back.
But first, you should know I didn't come into this as a skeptic. I came in as a believer. I believed in the annual physical. I believed in the blood panel. The blood pressure cuff. The reassuring nod from someone with a stethoscope around their neck. I did everything you're supposed to do. I moved my body. I ate with intention. I'd spent years learning which vitamins and minerals my body actually needed and building a careful balance that — for the first time in a long time — made me feel like myself. I felt good. That's the part I keep coming back to.
I felt good when I walked into that office.
This blog is the story of what happened next, and everything that came after. I bought this little corner of the internet — Her Hormone Story — because somewhere in the middle of the spiral, I realized I wasn't the only one. I started noticing the women in waiting rooms with the same tight smiles. The friends who'd say, quietly, "they told me it was nothing too." The ones who'd been handed a diagnosis like a verdict and sent home to live inside it.
