Privacy Policy

Voilà LOCAL ("Voilà," "we," "us"), operated by jmBABE Collective LLC, is a hyperlocal marketplace that connects local businesses, their staff, creators, and neighbors in real time. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using voila-local.com and related Voilà services, you agree to this policy.

Information we collect

Account information. When you create an account we collect your name, email address, and password (stored securely as a hash). Businesses, staff, creators, and affiliates may add profile details such as a display name, title, bio, photo, business name, category, address, hours, booking links, and social links.
Content you post. Deals, events, creator posts, wishes, follows, loves, and claims you create on the platform.
Location. With your permission, your approximate location or chosen city, used to show nearby deals and events. You can change your city at any time.
Payment information. Subscriptions and paid features are processed by Stripe. We do not store full card numbers; Stripe handles payment data under its own privacy policy.
Communications. Email addresses you provide for invitations and notifications. Transactional email is delivered by our email service provider (Brevo).
Usage data. Basic technical information such as pages viewed and general analytics used to operate and improve the service.

Facebook and Meta platform data

Voilà offers an optional feature that lets businesses, staff, and creators connect a Facebook Page they manage so that content they publish on Voilà is automatically shared to that Page.

When you connect a Page, we request the Facebook permissions pages_show_list, pages_read_engagement, and pages_manage_posts solely to (a) show you the list of Pages you manage so you can choose one, and (b) publish the content you create on Voilà to the Page you selected.
We store your selected Page's ID and a Page access token for this purpose only. We do not read your personal profile content, friends, or messages, and we do not post to your personal profile.
We do not sell Meta platform data or use it for advertising. It is used only to provide the page-sharing feature you enabled.
You can disconnect at any time from your Voilà portal or by removing the "Voila Poster" app in your Facebook settings (Settings & Privacy → Apps and Websites). Disconnecting deletes the stored Page token. You may also request deletion as described in our Data Deletion Instructions.

How we use information

To operate the marketplace: showing deals, events, and creator content to nearby locals.
To publish your content to the Voilà LOCAL Facebook Page and, if you connect one, to your own Facebook Page.
To send transactional and notification email you have requested (for example, new-deal alerts to followers, staff invitations, and account messages).
To process subscriptions and payouts.
To keep the platform safe, prevent abuse, and comply with law.

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with service providers who help us run Voilà — hosting and database (Supabase), payments (Stripe), email (Brevo), web hosting (Netlify), and Meta when you use the Facebook page-sharing feature — and when required by law. Content you post publicly (deals, events, creator posts, business and staff profiles) is visible to other users of the platform.

Data retention and deletion

We keep your information while your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated personal data at any time by emailing jennifer@voila-local.com or following our Data Deletion Instructions. We will delete or de-identify your personal data within 30 days, except where we must retain records for legal or accounting reasons.

Children

Voilà is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Security

We use industry-standard safeguards, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, and access controls on stored data, including Facebook Page tokens.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here with a new "last updated" date.
