Is Voilà LOCAL really free?
Yes. Locals never pay anything to join, browse, or claim a deal. The businesses pay a subscription to be on the platform — that's how we keep the lights on. You get the deals, the businesses get the customers, everyone wins.
Do I have to apply or wait to be approved?
No. Locals sign up directly — no application, no review queue. Once you submit your info, you're in. We do verify your email or phone (just to make sure you're real) but there's no gatekeeping.
What cities are you in?
We're rolling out city by city, starting with curated launch markets. When you sign up, tell us your city — even if we're not there yet, we keep a list and prioritize based on demand. Some cities launch sooner than others.
How do I claim a deal?
One tap. When you see a deal you want, tap "Claim" — the business gets notified, and you get a confirmation. Some deals are auto-approved (just show up), others require the business to confirm. Either way, you'll know within minutes.
What if I want to travel? Can I see deals in other cities?
Yes — we're building Voilà Trips, a travel-planning extension that lets you browse deals in cities you're visiting. Headed to Charleston for a long weekend? You'll see what's happening there, claim ahead, and walk in like a local.
Do I have to use the deals I claim?
No — but please be considerate. When you claim a Last Call seat at a restaurant, you're taking that seat away from someone else. We track no-show rates and will deactivate accounts that repeatedly claim and ghost. Treat it like a reservation, because that's what it is.
